Updated shopping list August 2018 – £46.14 = £1.15pp per day
This weeks shopping list is for a 10 day vegan challenge. Although so called ‘clean eating’ is very trendy right now, it can be very expensive to follow. I think this menu plan I’ve devised goes some way to addressing the food issue of over processed food, but at a realistic price.
There are no Chia seeds or Gobi berries, but plenty of healthy fruit and vegetables, and I’ve even added FREE picked nettles to some recipes as they are full of vitamins and iron, but you could just use spinach instead.
Until I started looking in to vegetarian and vegan foods I was unaware of the restrictions allowed in this diet. I’ve used maple syrup instead of honey and Vegan cheese and Soya milks as replacements even though they cost a lot more than dairy products, I’ve still kept close to the £1 a day budget.
Again a few everyday stock cupboard ingredients have been used so I’ve listed them here as well as a few fresh herbs cut from my garden.
